Lost Children (Tanka)

Thank you: Paul Militaru

kin of clay cold skin
crumbs of carnage float atop
ruby red waters
eyes sunk in morbid shadow
scurries from scorching nightmares

I write poetry/prose/stories/short stories/verses for children/sketch/and have 6 chapters of a novel sitting there like that half eaten trifle in the fridge or bottle of Jack Daniels because something makes you afraid to eat it or drink... right now.. I am a proud Geordie from England's northern hemisphere and the beautiful city of Newcastle upon Tyne. I live with my lovely husband who came all the way from sunny California just for me, and my favourite animal, Bobble, our dog. I am a member of Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth and wish we could all do more, especially today, when such a lot is wrong.

      1. It’s been a garden overhaul, and a lot of it is for wildflowers and more plants for the bees and butterflies. My husband does the grunt work cos I can’t – I give orders and pot things except I washed all the gravel bucket by bucket (ocd is rearing). It is looking good and I am getting into succulents and making indoor displays which is fun.
I have just repotted my cacti which was interesting – kitchen towel is not the best protection unless you put your arm through the whole in the middle of the tube, and were anorexic. My face bus de t not wearing me baseball hat, and I am half Indian,..go figure, but pasty due to my UK roots.
